Modena – 8/9 September 2025

The purpose of this conference is to recall the scientific activity of Giuseppe Vitali, born in Ravenna in 1875, who held the chair of Infinitesimal Analysis in Modena from 1923 to 1925. The Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics was named after him, until the current Department of Physical, Computer and Mathematical Sciences was established following the reform of the Italian university system. On this occasion, we would like to discuss Giuseppe Vitali’s valuable contributions to mathematical analysis, some of which are investigative tools that continue to prove their effectiveness in scientific research today.
